Exploratory well ASD-1X which was spudded-in on March 6th, 2021 by land rig EDC-50 with primary targets of Abu Roash “C” and “E” formations and with secondary target of Abu Roash “G”, reached TD of 3,750m MD on March 30th, well ahead of schedule with successful discoveries of total net hydrocarbon pay of 22 m in the Abu Roash “C”, Abu Roash “E”, Lower Bahariya and in Kharita formations. Well was completed and tested in both the Lower Bahariya and Abu Roash “C” reservoirs producing at 1,619 BOPD and 2.84 MMSCFPD at a 64/64″ choke, 852 BOPD and 1.6 MMSCFPD at a 32/64″ choke, and 661 BOPD and 0.632 MMSCFPD at a 24/64″ choke. Rig EDC-50 rig has now moved to new location at Al Jahraa field and spudded-in new well development well Al Jahraa-8.
